And Downward Pressure On Wages

How do firms cut costs? Well...

  1. Some companies in Norway have gone the partial furlough route, too: Employees are simply asked not to come to work on Fridays, for example.

    The sad thing about the US is that it is already far behind on giving workers decent wages (as a developed nation); now it'll slip even further. Nobody in Norway takes a wage-cut. They tried that route and the uproar was nearly deafening. We do have good unions here, though. They are the key to keeping workers from being victimized.

  2. I wonder, too, how we can possibly catch up to what more user-friendly nations have done with the national debt and the financial crisis etc...
